stereotyping
everyone is unique.
but today, i was proven wrong. i love frequenting the mamak just outside my house and so my family and are quite amongst the many regular customers there. there is something that i noticed about the way locals treat foreign workers who work at these mamaks. some can be really brash, rude and pushy and yet the workers just allow themselves to be submitted to these ill treatments.
i feel sorry for them and so always make an extra effort to be polite n even engage them in some small talk. i mean, they are really super hardworking, so far away from home, so why give them more shit? after all, their service is almost always impeccable, and they are always ready to serve you with a smile.
would it really hurt your ego, to smile back? a little nicety goes a long way.
anyway, today, i learnt that there are always 2 sides to a coin. let me explain.
my parents are both retired and are currently writing a book on student motivation. so obviously, they don't have a 9-5 job, because they, now, work on their own terms.
well, today at the mamak, this conversation took place.
foreign worker(fw): where is your mother?
me: at home.
fw: what is doing? watching a movie? (snickers mockingly)
me: no, doing her work.
fw: oh, she works ah? (all round eyed)
me: yes, they are writing a book. why?? (nonchalantly albeit irritatedly)
fw: oh... nothing. just wondering.
end of conversation.
now, why in the world does he have to know my family affairs?? isn't it enough that we give him pretty good business? so nosy and ignorant.
people, in this country i realize, have this false notion that only if you have a 9-5 job and lead a normal, acceptable life, you are seen as a success and appear to be normal (social status wise).
life is never black n white.
stop stereotyping!!!
open thy eyes, everyone is different.

turning 19-feel younger than 18(very strange)
wasn't really how i expected things to go.
but i think, it all happened for good reasons (in a sorta, kinda way).
thought i was gonna spend the day with KS, but it was not to be.
so spent d first part of d day(morning till early noon) lazing and moping around.
second half of the day,was where good stuff started happening. papa said let's all go 2 OU, n we were like 'how??' (car battery decided to kaput last night, fixing it on Monday). sooo, 'taxi, he said'. ok la. we went.
i DETEST taxi drivers in this country!!! what happen to the good ol' service??
its all about the money now. almost SIX taxis refused to use the meter!! we didn't give in to them obviously.
anyway, highlight of today!
spent an awesome outing with my darling parents n i finally got my Yin & Yang locket(n chain, n may i add, pure silver babeh)! =D
so overall, it was a simple yet fantastico birthday. wouldn't change it for anything.
tomorrow's a new day.
time to buckle up n dive in full force into boring taxation.

contradicting emotions
i really should be slogging n studying. but as someone wise once said, 'rather than studying all the time, study a few times and remember it!' lol. oh so true. so i think i've shoved enough IASs into my poor brain for a day. DON'T let me get started on blasted taxation!! gosh.. n i thought it would be easier. proven wrong by the all too 'great' lecturer, Ksgh. -_-
but i'm really counting on paasing this paper in November, otherwise.. well, i've got alot of adjusting to do. i'll make myself pass! no 2 ways girlie!!
People create their own success by learning what they need to learn and then by practicing it until they become proficient at it. ~ Brian Tracy.
but but but... me is so very lazy. *_*
i always believe that something must always inspire you to achieve what you really wanna achieve. cmon, who doesn't lose their drive once in awhile? if ur one of the lucky ones, do let me know of your secret to everlasting motivation.
oh the weather has decided to do some much needed cleaning in mother nature's royal compund. its raining la. lol. going on a verbal frenzy. anyways, gonna go and watch and smell the rain. one of my many true-est delights.
adieu, for now. =)

the very first =)
i never really liked the idea of baring all my thoughts for all to see, so i'm primarily doing this because i really want to improve my writing (literary) skills. all part of the 6 year plan.
my best friend will be amused.
its so very hard to keep in touch with everyone these days, as we are all caught up in the race of life or more aptly put by Robert Kiyosaki, 'the rat race'. i just hope and pray that now, at least, we can all keep in touch n in tune with each others lives. mooilanie, you're the first i'm adding into my links. LOL.
to all my dear friends out there, slogging for exams (seems to be the season now) i wish thee all, the greatest of lucks! stay calm n focused. it's not going to go on forever, thank God!
to those with upcoming SPM,STPM.. u can do it!!! almost there!!
it will be pure bliss after all that brain n nerve cracking.
whoa, i made it thru my 1st post ever!
*grins widely*
